What to Wear for the Apocalypse...

i might start with this...

Bulletproof Bomber Jacket

One of our more popular products is the BulletBlocker Bulletproof flight jacket. It has NIJ IIIA body armor and weighs in at only 7.5lbs This classic extra full cut jacket offers a discrete way to conceal a lightweight, removable NIJ IIIA bullet-resistant liner. Jacket style body armor is designed for as inconspicuous a fit as possible when worn while standing and walking. Ballistic panels provide front, side and rear protection with torso coverage up to the collarbone area and protective extensions on the sides.

Inspired by the original MA-1 flight jacket this style jacket has been issued by the United States Air Force since the early 1940's to Air Force and Navy pilots. The MA-1 was designed to serve as an intermediate weight flight jacket for use all year. This flight jacket has timeless style and best of all it blends into any casual atmosphere. Great for spring, summer or fall.

I'd wear pretty much what I always wear (black tee and black trousers with whatever footwear), but I'd throw in one of these (in a scabbard over my back).... I'd prolly go with sneakers over boots for the agility/speed factor.

alternatively I might feel like wearing a typical off-white suit by helmut lang if possible with bare feet.

Maybe I'd recreate my Timberland 'Give racism the boot' T from many years ago (this would be a perfect time to reissue it!) ... plus some kind of jacket (best to cover the skin) and matching Timberland boots (something I've never owned, but hey, it's the apocalypse).

I like what Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg wear for the apocalypse in Melancholia (which is the type of quick apocalypse I would prefer thank you very much!), but I would upgrade it a bit.. first I'd take my mom's own apocalypse recommendation (earthquakes/flooding= "wear decent underwear because you don't want the paramedics to wonder..":lol:), and then something like this.. gloves for sure, and a harness.. I still can't get over the fact that in free fall (airplane disasters for instance, or an explosion I bet), people lose things like jeans but somehow remain seated with the seatbelt on.. and underwear. I either end up naked or with all of my clothes, but you can survive longer with clothes on so I prefer the latter!

(it would be really funny to be found with no clothes but underwear and a harness...).

^^--

i was thinking about some Y-3 Sport as well...
i keep going back to the store to visit this one pair of pants...
they are actually menswear~!!

the articulated knees and the wraparound ankle strap kill me...
not to mention the reflective strips...
they are some sort of light wool soft gauze-like fabric fused onto some nylon kind of tech fabric...
amazing...

...
