I recently finished Succession and have been thinking about Shiv Roy's wardrobe a lot. I like the fact that she's richer than God but sticks to timeless pieces.

On the flipside, I love Issa's style on Insecure which I also finished watched during lockdown. Her character is not richer than God but in one episode, her character is seen exchanging clothes in Opening Ceremony (including Dries!) after wearing them just once.

I really can't remember the context of the conversation but I was talking to a friend and I mentioned Nicole Kidman's green Dior dress and we both sighed and talked about how perfect and timeless that dress is and will likely always be (plus hair+earrings ). I don't think about it a lot but definitely think about this type and era of fashion often.. and of course how statuesque Nicole's always been but these years (1997 through maybe 2004?) were just spectacular and such an education of everything from perfect dresses, being experimental with clothes, elegance..

Off the top of my head, this dress worn by Chloe Sevigny at a MAC Copacabana party in 2004. I'm not sure which designer it is, but it has a certain Stefano Pilati/YSL look to it? Plus the shoes look very Pilati/YSL, too. It's just pure fabulousness and really only Chloe could have worn it and made it look this chic...with her tan skin and easy hair and makeup look.

The costume creativity that goes into building historical wicked characters, often women in power. I think it's quite masterful for fashion, hair and makeup to demonstrate such a sinister vibe in such a nonverbal way.
