Where does the inspiration come from?

Hi!
I was just wondering, where does everyone think designers(or yourself if you are a designer) get the inspiration for some of those beautiful peices they create?
I am no designer, but I am thinking I would like to start desiging some things and getting them make by a seamstress, and I like to look at the pictures from the fashion shows on style.com, and I also like looking at what people are wearing in magazines....then I like to take a little bit of something from a few peices, or almost copy something but have it slightly different.

For creating in general, I take my inspiration from music and how it makes me feel. It puts me into such a mood and I take it from there.

^ Yeah, music is great...sometimes I will use history > find a picture > filter it down as much as I can, but inspiration can be anything really!
