on aura tout vu
- Elie Saab
- And I adored Gianfranco Ferre's days at Dior (in the 80s and 90s). His couture designs for Dior were beautiful, intricate, and sophisticated. Some of the most elegant women in Europe wore Dior back in those days (Princess Caroline of Monaco, Isabelle Adjani, etc). Ferre's Dior was nowhere near the ridiculousness of what Galliano has turned the house into.
Ferre's Dior in 1991.
- I also loved Claude Montana's days at Lanvin in the early 90s.
anne valerie hash
i also love givenchy and dior
chanel is nice
hate elie saab (sorry to all those who like him)
valentino couture is much better than his rtw line... i wish he would make more jackets and suits though, rather than dresses
Galliano and Lagerfeld
jean paul gaultier
hmm maybe Givenchy and Baptista
Tisci for Givenchy for me...he's just hypnotically fresh and challenging
I can't believe I've never stumbled into this thread before.
Galliano at Dior (these last few collections excluded). He's fallen into a bit of a slump lately, but to me he's the most creative force working today (again, these last few collections excluded). He creates fashion moments unlike anyone else these days. I'm praying he snaps out of this creative purgatory he's been stuck in asap.
Also love Lacroix. It's strange because all of his signatures are usually things I dislike, but his perverse way of throwing it all together and making it look like it couldn't possibly be any other way always amazes me. Plus, I'm just a romantic at the core, and his stuff is so dreamlike.
And as of last season, Riccardo Tisci. At first I didn't like what he was doing, it just wasn't my taste at all. But then last season blew me away, it was such a balance between his dark romance and classical beauty and it worked so well (except for those oversize captains hats)
My top 3 :
ooh yes, forgot about Lacroix Always has nice fabrics there..
galliano for dior
tisci for givenchy
karl for chanel
Galliano at Dior, Valentino and Chanel.
Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier and John Galliano for Dior
I loved Versace haute couture and still do. I love Karl at Chanel very much! John Galliano is great for the show like someone said.
Givenchy, Anne Valerie Hash
john for dior
lacroix (association colour = lacroix has been in my head for as long as i can remember)
gaultier (i think he is the coolest cat in the house)
John Galliano for Dior. His FW04 HC made me love fashion.
Galliano for Dior, although this collection was a bit dissapointing. I love his extravagant ideas! I also love how he comes out at the end of the show, looking ridiculous!
Galliano at his SS07 collection for Dior
