Why Canada is the Coolest in Fashion

Heh I've never even heard of the brands Mercy or Ports international

Mercy is awesome - they've been around since 1996 - I believe they have a store on Spadina...maybe now on Queen - I'm not too sure...Stuff used to be sold by Psyche on Queen I know...
Anyhow, the 2 designers Jennifer Halchuk and Richard Lyle - they run Toronto's Fashion Cares show...

Also - are any of you familiar with Arthur Mendonca??? Google him - he used to assist David Dixon, who is another great Canadian designer...
anyhow, Mendonca's stuff is awesome...

Check out Toronto's "Fashion Incubator" - great website for Canadian Talent info: www.fashionincubator.com

Jssy4eva - Thanks for starting this thread....FINALLY someone did ;) Karma for you baby!! :flower:

You probably shouldn't have mentioned DSquared among reasons why Canada is the coolest in fashion. ;)

I like the fashion presented, but for a lot of countries, couldn't similar slideshows be presented?

It was fun to look at, nonetheless. :flower:

You're right, it totally could... But Canada is a pretty small country in comparison to the fashion superhouses, and is a more recent entry, so that's a positive point worth celebrating. :)

I don't think Canada is a recent entry at all, in typical canadian style, we've been there all along as a silent supporter. I'm glad to see us finally getting the recognition we deserve!

Of course. :flower:

The funny thing about the style.com article is the music blurb titled "Tragically Hip"...I assumed it would actually contain a mention of the band itself, but no...I guess even opening for the Stones isn't enough to get them a little press this side of the border.
