Why do my subscription mags appear on newstands 1st?

I get issues of Allure, Numero, and Bazaar in th mail but I end up gettign them a one week or two after it is out on newstands. Am I the only one? I sent them an e-mail today, so let us see if justice is serve.

LOLOLOL!!!! I know! It's funny......I was at dinner tonight with my husband and we walked past a newsstand to get to the restaurant and i was like there's my W magazine that I haven't gotten yet! LOL!!! I guess that's what we get for getting a subscription (cheaper per mag price).

I know! I hate seeing all the magazines that I paid for and subscribed too...out on the newsstaand way before I will recieve my own copy in the mail. I feel like they are shafting all of us...

It's incredibly frustrating and I absolutely hate waiting for them. But I don't know if there is anything that can be done about it. In addition to the lower price, maybe the logistics of mailing them out causes the delay....

I HATE IT!!!! iT'S ANNOYING

Although Glamour , Vogue , Elle , Red , Marie Claire and Instyle aren't that bad.

Vanity Fair is usually late and Tatler sometimes too

It has nothing to do with the magazine - blame it on the wonderful Post Office. All copies are probably sent out at the same time, but since stores get big shipments they usually get theirs shipped faster.

You know peace, you're probably right. It's probably easier to ship to the larger stores opposed to individual addresses.

I also hate when they don't come wrapped in plastic and the pages are messed up.

^Yeah, I hate that. My Harper's Bazaars are always messed up. The only magazines I get that are wrapped though are Vogue and Teen Vogue (both published by Conde Nast).

It gets on my nerves and when I'm standing in the bookstore, I try not to reach for the magazine so I could be surprised and really go over it at home, but I usually fail...

^thats what I do to! Its so aggravating! I get my Teen Vogue somewhere between the 10th and the 16th of the month and it is on newsstands at the beginning of the month! I thought the point of subscribing was to get first dibs on the mag!

It’s a simple answer. It’s a marketing ploy; those with a subscription are a guaranteed sale. They may also bring it to their office and allow visitors to read it or allow friends and family to read it. The terms are subscribers (readers) and readership.

Like a newspaper, one person may buy it but several read it. So, they want the average Joe to purchase it at full price before subscribers receive theirs and pass it around.

Yes whenever I call Vogue's customer service to inquire as to whether my current month's issue has been mailed; they always tell me it has and the magazines come from their warehouse and that to allow anywhere from 4-6 weeks.

^Vogue US and Allure (they come wrapped in plastic). I usually get my Vogue before it hits the newstand. Allure comes later..

My Bazaar tends to come weeks before I expect it, however, my Vogue was notorious for coming up to a week and a half after it had been on the newstand.
