I look horrible in most wide leg jeans, but pants are fine with me. I have Oscar de la Renta ones like these in the pic below, but in grey. and I love them :flower:

So I am not all that tall to begin with, and I am long-waisted, so wide-leg trousers have historically been a challenge for me, not least because the cut often no longer works when you hack off a great swath of it

I hate to admit this, but I have been known to buy cropped pants just so I don't have to have them tailored :innocent:This is how I get my 7/8ths trousers.

So ... I have been eyeing all the wide-leg trousers for fall with a lustful eye. Does anyone have any tips for me, like maybe a brand name (contemporary price point or below I hope)?

Does anyone have their trousers tailored at an angle to show shoe detail? :innocent: That's the thing I hate about a really long length is it hides my shoes ...

I bought some Paul Smith very wide leged black pants with turn -ups that are cut a little short just below the ankle - they look form far a way like a long skirt and show off the shoes very well.

My issue with wide legged jeans is that I am on the taller side usually only wear flats, and I think they make you lose your feet and are flattering only with a higher shoe. Do you guys think they look as good with flats?

You know, I saved very few runway pix this season, but one was Paul Smith. Do you know where I can get his stuff in the US? Does NAP have it?

I actually just bought a great pair of wide leg jeans from Target ( for $22!)....
What I like most about them is the wash ( nice and dark blue)...
and the fabric is so thin and comfy.
I am very happy with them.

I'd like to order online the J. Brand lovestory. But I'm so not sure about the color. Probably ink is the most flattering, but I have so many dark blue jeans...so should I choose dark vintage or aged?! Any recommendations? :innocent: I should add that I don't like so much 'artificial vintage wash' ...

And how do these jeans run?! Some online shops say they run true to size, others say they run small and again others say they run big :o

Last question: what's the difference between love story bell and wide leg? Only the one inch difference in the knee?!

I bought them from the shop, I looked on-line but haven't seen them.

as pants wide legs are the best , finding the right wide leg jean can be tricky but now they are a lot of options , but yeah in pants the fabric drapes better

I remembered in the gaucho pants discussions about how taller ladies don't really look great in gauchos. Seems like this is another garment that doesn't seem to compliment taller ladies all that well. My favorite touch to wide legs are the flare. With lighter fabrics, the wide-leg pants provide a romantic drape. The wide-leg pants in Post #87 are beautiful, as is the rest of her outfit. Lighter fabrics mean beautiful movement when a lady walks around. These white pants look absolutely beautiful. I would instantly compliment her good looks if a lady wore pants like the ones in Post #87. I can just photoshop the image to make the white pants into gray pants to see what gray looks like with these pants. What do you usually pair these Oscar de la Renta pants with, Inaya?

Wide-leg jeans can actually be tricky. You could get some of those extremely-wide jeans that most club folk like to wear (usually called "phat pants.") I've seen some varying examples of wide-legged jeans. Lotta Stensson had some wide-leg jean pants. Really, there aren't a lot of options for wide-leg jeans. Flare-leg jeans and traditional bell bottoms are usually better to work with in terms of any sort of wide-legged jeans. Just not as many options to me. I'd be interested in long jeans for women that makes women look lovely in casual fashion.

I somewhat think that wide-legged pants look better than wide-leg jeans. Maybe I'm sold on the sexy appeal of career/office/evening style clothing. Do you feel that way as well?
