After the initial disaster caused by the Indian Bureaucracy, Delhi fashion week is now on.

These are some of the favourites so far. Delhi fashion week is proving much more exciting than the Mumbai....and I am absolutely kicking myself for not going. Designers are blending western cuts with indian crafts.

Yes, you are right. Mumbai is where all the money is. It's the commercial and "cultural" capital of India. However Chanel chose to open a store in Delhi, not Mumbai. So that should say something about the fashion market.... Its bizarre. It could be due to the city's (mumbai) obsession with bollywood and socialites....There are far too many socialites that end up emerging as "designers". Delhi fashion week is generally considered as more serious.
There is one Mumbai based designer that I quite like - Sabyasachi. I will post the collection. He does the whole "intellectual chic" look very well.

But Delhi has Gaurav Gupta and Rajesh Pratap Singh.
