hope this isnt a repeated post
Post the ad you think was a total mess

I can't say I hate this ad campaign, but I guess I expect more from Galliano and Knight, this one just bored me. Also pretty much all of the Chanel ads from the last few seasons, Karl's a brilliant designer, but his ads are beyond boring, and this past season, Kate didn't even look good in them......

Ads you Hate

i love flipping through my vogue and studying all the new ads, but there are times that i see and ad and gag. what ads make you cringe?

here is my number one choice: the diesel ad with one man standing, and three girl arranged very suggestingly around his body. anyone have a pic of this one to explain?

hahahaha i know which ad your talking about!!!!! i dont think i have a picture tho....it sucks big time tho

my least favorite ads ever....probably the obsession ads :yuk:

currently tho...hmmm...that diesel ad is pretty high up there....so are the YSL daria ads...mostly b/c i can barely see the clothes, and i just think there's a time and a place to go photoshop happy...and to compromise the look of the clothes....NOT the time and place to do it. imo of course lol...i know many people here love the YSL ads.

i'm sure i will think of more...just give me time haha

Original Sin, i agree with you about the YSL Daria ads, but i have to say that those ads are not photoshopped like crazy. It's just Juergen Teller shooting his style at night in Paris, probably with direct flash, and not bothering to balance the exposure "correctly." (I have no problem with him shooting how he shoots -- if YSL want to pay him for that, then more power to him. The shots are kind of cool, but a bit ridiculous for an ad campaign.) The campaign that i think is really weak is the Ralph Lauren collection ads with the cheesy aviator look. It's so amateurish and simple that i almost get embarassed looking at the photos.

Agree with prettyjuice and OriginalSin--I don't like those ads either, although I think the Diesel ad you mention pales in comparison with the Diesel ad with the man and woman with a scythe on a bearskin rug. I'm disturbed by a) violent and/or sexually perverted ads, b) ads where women are distorted (top of Daria's head missing in YSL, model's legs fused and ending in a single foot in Lanvin) or look dead or blank (this is so common where do I start), and c) ads where women have taken their bags to bed. The only women I know who sleep with their purses are in nursing homes.
