Yeohlee Teng’s challenge right now is to define “the new meaning of ‘must haves.’” Accordingly, this collection is about clothes for “everywhere, anytime.” For her signature coats and jackets, she combines gentle structure with softness, nipping waistlines or backs, and sometimes layering sleeves. There is a fresh delicacy in tiered sleeve dresses, some in a tropical bird palette or grainy prints. While the requisite resort pieces — lean shorts and pants, great tank tops and T-shirt dresses — are all here, the designer is adamant that when it comes to fabrics, color and the collection’s core silhouettes, there will be no “religious observance of individual seasons.”
