and i need to buy a yoga mat & bag..

i wanna get a nice bag....
anyone care to point me towards the right direction?

don't bother with a designer yoga mat ( see the pointless designer accesorry thread for countless tragic examples)- in london calmia does dome great ones- i'd go for something simple - its yoga after all ( and you dont want the chanel c's embossed on your **** after a session...)

but i wasnt looking to spend 500+ on a yoga bag..

they dont have to be done by high end designers..
i just want something cute and pretty..

I am bumping this thread.

I bought my mom a yoga mat from the health store on Saturday as a birthday gift. I didn't know that she has a really thick yoga mat, so it didn't fit in the bag I bought for her. Does anyone have any non-designer recommendations for a bag that might fit a larger mat? Not sure if they make expandable ones. I was going to do a Google search but trust my fellow tFSers more than Google.

If you're talking about the 1/4" thick black mats that are 71" long you can find a great selection of bags at Barefoot for $30 to $50. The regular size of most of these bags fits 71" mats but you can order one of the "extra large" versions for more room or to pack a rug as well. Black mats also come in 85" and 100" lengths and for those you definitely need the "extra large" versions of the bags, particularly for the duffel bags. I've never had a problem ordering from this company and the products are always top notch.

If you'd rather touch before you buy look up a yoga studio that sells gear in your area and checkout the selection.

oGorgeous super cute yoga bags

Hey! Just saw this post and wanted to suggest oGorgeous yoga bags. They are a brand new line and are really quite delicious. You might like their big bow bag or this other super sparkly pleated bag. It can fit your mat and your shoes, towels, change of clothes etc. I have one and people always compliment me on it. Really stylish and I say it's a go.

These ones are great. I have the Chocolate mint and it's lovely, and very durable. I'm not sure how much you want to pay for a bag but these are definitely worth it!

As for mats, can I recommend the Jade Yoga mats? I used to have the problem of slipping hands and ever since I started using the Jade mats, problem gone!
