since most of his menswear collections were posted by now, I thought I'll catch up on posting some of the YY women's collections that there's no thread for yet.

SS03 is one of my favorites of his so what better place to start..

Thank you, Inaya. It seems crazy we didn't have a thread for this collection, now that 'best of the decade' lists are coming out for everything, I'm tempted to say this is quite possibly my favorite from Yamamoto, I love how elegant and calm it is and timeless of course, as everything else he does.

^ same here, MP. I was searching it because I was just going to post some detail shots but was surprised when there was no existing thread. thanks so much for posting the video as well. :crush:

Ok, I'm giggling a kid in a candy store, I've shamelessly stolen the source of someone in Supporting Cast and found my way to this beautiful collection.. in HQs! which is crazy considering there are practically no sites with HQs of pre-2005 collections!.

oh my god...i could cry!...
...

thank you so much MP!!!...
...

that first jumpsuit and hat with the veil are part of the V&A show...
and i am thrilled to see that one of my silk tops is from this collection!!!
worn by miss erin o connor in post #12 last row...
:woot:...:woot:...:woot:...
i wish you could see the back...
it ties at the neck and then closes with only two snaps at the bottom...
so that it drapes open beautifully in the back...
so sexy, but so discreet...
:brows:

i have to say- even though we never talk about models in designer threads...
these models are really on a different level and worth talking about!...

you know...
in another thread someone (don't remember who) posted about how much they loved the collection and that they want to marry yohji...

*now, i know that on the surface that makes absolutely no sense...
but i have to say...
that is exactly how i feel about yohji...
i just want to marry yohji!...
:P

his clothes have completely seduced me...
and it was really love at first site...
from back in the 80's when i was an impressionable teen...
and he was the dark moody broody poet designer...
i was completely hooked and have been ever since...
*sigh*...

i love you yohji!
...
thank you for making me feel like no other man has ever made me feel...
...

^ Great post, softgrey, I love how you always talk about him .. and I feel like I relate to most of what you mention even though my 'visual affair' with his work started later, 10 years ago actually!, I had seen pictures of his shows on my grandma's magazines in the 90s but when I heard him talk about his S/S 02 collection, explaining the poetry written on the silk dresses, I was swooned, extremely intrigued.. I was also that impressionable teen (I was almost 16!) but I feel like that must've been the first rays of adulthood peaking through .. cause I moved on from everything else, but when it comes to Yohji, it's all been multiplied.

That sounds like such a gorgeous top, by the way, the profile (in one of Inaya's posts at the beginning) looks already quite awesome.

Those dresses with creepers: so very NOW! Stunning collection.
