Opera, well I didnt really like opera until I worked at the opera company! And so I got to see Carmen for free, and I really like it! The music is lovely, and I read the book in french class! My favorite ballet that I've ever seen was Romeo and Juliet Musicals...I used to watch a lot of musicals when I was little! The theater ones, I mean. I saw TOMMY in New York City (by Pete Townsend, but without the WHO of course!) I like Les Miserables, I liked the Phantom of the Opera too. Well, there are a lot I like! Theater...well I LOVE plays. I saw some Shakespeare ones on a school trip once. I saw this other one though by Tom Stoppard, I think it was called The Real Thing (?) Oh and I saw "This is Our Youth" in London with Kiernan Culkin, Colin Hanks and Alison Lohman. There are a lot of plays that I've READ that have been really good, I wish I could have seen them!
My favorite musical that I've seen on stage/broadway is Les Miserables. Absolutely beautiful. I mean, I've only been listening to the cast recording. But to finally see it on stage. Whoa. And Into the Woods. Bernadette Peters!! I want to see The Producers. I NEED to see Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane perform. Sigh.
Phantom of the Opera-I love this so much- it is a bit of a hobby. I collect Phantom items-the playbills, books, etc. I had the musicians at my wedding play many songs from it before the ceremony-"Music of The Night" is my favorite.
I saw "Ragtime" in Broadway ..got very excited ... "Rent" I liked a lot ... In here ... I saw a really nice production of "Carmen" a couple of months ago in Nat'l Theater ... I check out the Bolshoi Ballet & Kiev Ballet every single time they come ... Right now the "Festival de Coreografos" is on ... loads of performances!!!
I don't know if this counts but I adored Equus and Communion they were both at a little theater in dublin, I can't remember the name of it
Les Miserables is my favourite musical and my favourite opera is currently A Masked Ball. Although I have never actually seen it performed, I think I would love the ballet Giselle. Oh, and even though I didn't like the movie, I really enjoyed reading Amadeus.
