I really need to hear something else than the same 20 hits played on the radio. It's driving me crazy! I work in a shop, where we listen to the same everyday, which can get on your nerves a bit...

Oh, I feel ya on that one. I'm sick of mainstream music all of the time.

I love appreciating songs I know that a lot of people haven't heard. If I connect with a song, I feel like it's all mine instead of millions of other people's around the world.

Jack Johnson is pure amazement! Trust me!!! Very relaxing, very acoustic.

I can't stand background music, but I do have a tendency to fall asleep whilst listening to Loveless by My Bloody Valentine, without this being a bad thing.

When I hear 'lounge music' I imagine it as wallpaper and so should be unobtrusive and calming, but never grow old. To this end I'd say Colleen, Air, Sigur Ros, Susumu Yokota, Rachels, Electric Penguins, Portishead and probably anyone on The Leaf label

For lounge music, I instantly think of bands like Thievery Corporation, Zero 7, and Portishead. They have some amazing, "chill-out" type songs.

I'm so weird. Jack isn't even LOUNGE music. He's acoustic guitar. What was I thinking?

I agree with above, that lounge music should blend in like wallpaper.
