Your next vacation?

I came back from London a couple of days ago.. and next I'll be going to Iceland but this won't be until June/July I think. I might go to Sweden/Russia/Estonia before Iceland though, since they're so close.

humor, I think July is the best time to come up north :flower: Hope you'll have fun here.

Oh thank you very much. You are very sweet. :flower: Hope you have fun too.

My husband and I are traveling to Quebec City and Montreal for a week in April - we have never been and so I would love it if any of you had suggestions for killer restaurants or shopping! :flower:

Also we are going to Argentina in September - my hubbie's Father is from Argentina and we are going back there for his 50th birthday. I can't wait!!

I'm not sure if I'll be going to Cambodia to do volunteer work...

Astatine, I think that is wonderful that you are doing volunteer work. When I was in college I spent three summers doing volunteer work overseas. It was without a doubt the single most important choice in life that shaped my future...in a very positive way. You will never be the same!!!

Good luck in your journeys, please come back and let us all know how it was!

Next month we are going skiing with group of 10 people(anual ski trip) in Colorado Steamboat :buzz:  Can't wait

^ I haven't been to Quebec City, but I've been to Montreal. I loved it!

One thing I absolutely have to recommend is going Jet boating! Sounds a bit odd to do something like this in Montreal, but believe me, this is so much FUN and very unique! It's about $60 (Canadian) to do, and sooo memorable if you like a little adventure. Check out the site here: http://www.jetboatingmontreal.com/

Montreal is definately my favorite weekend getaway place. I used to go more when I was younger (cuz I could drink in bars there and not here) than I do now though.

I haven't been on a really great vacation in a while, but I'm hoping to do a short trip to the Carribean this spring. I've never been and my parents go ALL the time (no fair!). In fact they're leaving for a cruise in a few weeks. I guess thats one of the perks of being older and having lots of money saved up.
Anyway, suggestions for which island to visit and what to do there would be appreciated!

Where are you going for your next vacation? And what are you most excited to do? :flower:

This summer I'm going to be traveling a bit, which I'm very excited about. I'm going with my friend Rachel to Las Vegas in May, which should be fun. She's turning 21 so we're going out there to have a good time! I'm also hopefully going out to California with my boyfried and his family in June. Then I'm going to Kauai, Hawaii in July with my family, and I can't wait! My family owns a vacation home there, and there's just so many fun things to do - go surfing, rent a boat, go snorkeling... I love it!

I LOVE Hawaii and Southern California. I plan on going back to both places in the future; probably California sooner. I'm actually thinking of moving there (although that would be a HUGE step for me, being an East Coast girl).
Never been to Vegas but I would really love to go. One of the places that I know I have to visit in my lifetime.

I am never a fan of cruise trips 'cause I always think cruises are for old people. :p I much prefer plan/explore trips by myself. For Caribbean islands I recommend the followings:
Dominica
Grenada
Saint Kitts & Nevis
Barbados
British Virgin

What to do on the islands? You can go sailing, hiking, diving... or do nothing, just relax. :flower:

^ My favorite island is in the Bahamas. It's called Elbow Cay, or Hope Town. It's in the island chain of the Abacos. If you want a secluded island paradise but don't want to spend tons of money, this is the place! You can rent a house on Elbow Cay for as little as $600 a week. The Abacos are not a very crowded tourist location (not that many people know about them). There are not many hotels on them (most people rent houses for the week, which are relatively cheap) so you can have a whole beach to yourself for the day in most spots! It's amazing there. Many people rent boats for a few days and travel around to the other islands. There is lots of snorkeling nearby, you can spot dolphins for most of the year, there are beautiful white sand beaches, palm trees, good food, the works! Oh, and on Elbow Cay (Hope Town) there are no cars! Just golf carts to get around on!

So if you like this sort of vacation where you get away from the world, relax, and take in beautiful scenery, this is a great location. However, if you want a lot of nightlife and entertainment, a bigger island would be better.
