Neiman's Own Think Tank
Stefano Pilati & Olivier Theyskens among designers sketching the future

(NEW YORK) Neiman Marcus may be looking back to celebrate 100 years of retail success this October, but that’s not keeping the luxury retailer from moving forward into the next realm of design. Ken Downing, the store’s senior vice president and fashion director, invited 26 designers to present their take on the question of where design will go next, be it in the near future or 600 years from now. Their results will be presented in “Future Fashion,” an exhibition of looks and original sketches that will be part of a month-long launch starting in Dallas at the downtown flagship this October. Among the impressive roster of contributing creative minds participating are Vera Wang, Stefano Pilati for YSL, Stella McCartney, Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, and Olivier Theyskens for Nina Ricci, who created a crocheted dress comprised of yards and yards of shimmering yarn.
