YSL Mombasa

I want a crest so I can put it on a blazer or something...Oooo they should make a blazer with that crest on the back but the crest should be HUGE, almost taking up the whole back. That would be expensive but gorgeous.

Love the idea DIORLING, a huge crest on the back of a leather or deep dark velvet blazer, I can see in front of me it right now, very very YSL , very poweful brilliant diroling.

have anyone seen this mombasa in the YSL boutiques? if not please do & post ur impression...I'll be waiting

when I saw it I kept 'wowing' the whole day:woot:

,

i have seen it, but in a larger size its quite nice...:flower:

Do any stores still have the original in stock? Any Neiman's or Saks or BG? Does YSL still make this style?? Thanks!

Nope, I don't like it much either. Its just too costumey for my taste, very over the top.

the original -- sans crest -- is still available at boutiques in black and brown (and a cognac color too but only in the mini size).

here is the mombasa with mink trim- pre-fall collection. personally i think the trim adds nothing to it.

I think the trim actually takes away from the bag. I think it looks best in plain, neutral colored leather.

Initially, I cannot accept the look of the bag (especially the horns' handle) but after a glance with a fellow poster, the bag is beginning to grow on me.

Now, I only have to decide between the medium Mombasa, a black Balenciaga(still on waiting list) or a Intrecciato BV

<<please dont repost pictures>>

hi travis

where did u find this pre-fall collection? what is the site please??:flower:

with or without the trim, the mombasa is a trendy & a classic at once.

i got the pic for the mink trimmed mombasa from saks.com- its priced at around $1k. i am thinking of getting it for a friends birthday- in london prefall is arriving- although i was told selfridges won't carry it because of the fur issues - so best check the boutiques.

this one was up for auctioning on eBay a week ago  i honestly don't care too much for the mink trimmed one .

i saw the crest bags on sale at ysl in san francisco recently...the salespeople there also told me that the plain blk leather ones w/ natural horn handle will be discontinued but won't go on sale

love the crest mombasa, it is a bag that turns the others heads

I've just bought my black leather mombasa in the large format. They told me in the boutique that the basic model is their bestseller so they are still selling it (this was in Paris) alongside new versions each season. But I find the horn bit digs into my shoulder quite badly, have you found that too?
