Zegna Menswear S/S 2024 Milan

Easy fitting and light, an effortless menswear show apart from some of the looks like the leather that make me feel very hot.

This is good, IMO. The cut, the silhouette, the color palette, the overall look…all of it comes together quite nicely. I can do without the leather (“leather-wearin’ in the summertime”), but that’s the only bad thing I can say about this show.

And those textiles seem like they’d feel like heaven against the skin.

Im a fan.

This is how you do light, easy-wearing, effortless spring-summer menswear!

The skinny brown leather belts are cool (I'm curious about that metal closure), and the oversized tops look comfy instead of sloppy. (How do so many other major designers get that so wrong?)

Even when I don't like some individual pieces (leather blazers, or that grey tunic-sweatshirt with the shoulder seams dropped all the way down to the elbows), they fit the easygoing tone perfectly.

The grey-bearded model looks as comfortable and dignified as the teenagers, which is hardly unprecedented, but uncommon enough to point out as respectable.

The colour palette is nice too, hitting a bunch of notes across the spectrum but still disciplined and straightforward, with nothing garish or fluorescent.

Prada and Ann D and Jil Sander and everybody else creating drab all-white (sometimes black) mediocrity, take note.

The sense of ease with Sartori’s Zegna is so chic. I love the soft shoulders on some of the outerwear. Colour palette was great too. I would have needed an umbrella and ridiculous amounts of SPF if I was sat in this show.

Linen and tonals done right. There's an air of Milanese Lemaire for its simplicity and luxury despite being so relaxed. And those brown leather pants are just scrumptious!

Only nag is the upturned sleeves on the jacket in look 7. I get why, but it isn't that enjoyable to look at and every other look has such a distinctly crisp or considered cuff/sleeve hem so it looks really out of place.
