joan bennett,
who started her career in the thirties as a sweet blonde in the shadow of her famous sister constance.at the end of the 30´s she started to dye her hair brown and went on to become one of the great film noir heroines of the 40´s (scarlet street,the woman in the window etc.)sources :moderntimes.com,doctormacro.com,worth1000.com.

another film noir femme fatale.she was deliciously malicious in "double indemnity" and i also loved her as the (not very likeable) victim in "sorry wrong number".

Virginia Gilmore

I just came across this picture of an actress called Virginia Gilmore in the September 1941 issue of Argentinian magazine "Maribel":

I'm intrigued because I'd never heard of her before, and she's quite pretty. All I found out is that she was married to Yul Brynner and starred in movies like "Manhattan Heartbeat", "Close-up", "That Other Woman", "The Loves of Edgar Allan Poe" and "The Pride of the Yankees".
Has anyone ever seen a movie of hers?

another film noir "dame":lizabeth scott.i´ve only seen two of her films :"the strange love of martha ivers" and "dead reckoning".

her "wise-beyond-her-years" and "seen-it-all"- look reminded me of lauren bacall.she was great together with bogie in "dead reckoning" but of course bogie and bacall are a class of their own.
