Nylon resulted from about ten years of concentrated research at Du Pont's Experimental Station. Originally, the researchers had sought to improve natural materials, particularly those used to make hosiery. They targeted hosiery because it was an item consumers bought often and thus presented Du Pont with the opportunity for large profits. What they discovered was a synthetic fiber with wholly new properties. Through the mid-1950s, the story of nylon takes place within Du Pont. [/FONT]

FABULOUS Ivory Tulle 1950's Dress w/ Pink & Green Embroidery
A FABULOUS 1950's prom dres in ivory tulle with pink and green floral embroidery. Fitted heart shaped, strapless bodice. Dress has a lovely, full, ivory tulle skirt with an attached, embroidered "apron." Dress is shown here with a crinoline... not included. Lined. Side metal zipper.
