Every summer, there are a few new trends to be seen splattered all over local beaches and pool parties. I myself have fallen victim to throwing fit to the wind and buying something purely because it's "hot." Should I mention boy shorts? Seemingly harmless, something new and different. Little did I know that these form fitting frights would turn every leg into both short and stumpy.

Okay, onto greener pastures... What are the trends in swinwear this summer? And more importantly, who is designing bathingsuits that FIT well and actually flatter bodies?

B)

those ones with bits cut out seem to be everywere this summer and metailic ones

hmmm...i always really like norma kamali swimwear...

and she is definitely having a real comeback with her new everlast collection...which is largely based on her classic swim collection...
i definitely recommend checking it out...

it sort of goes beyond trends...

i love boy cut shorts too but my hips are too wide...i bought some anyways though. I like the bathing suits that are basically like bikinis but they have a piece of material going from the top piece to the bottoms through your belly area...they're going to be everywhere this summer.
To be honest I'm not too keen on the metallic ones...too attention drawing for my liking, being half naked is enough attention drawing for me.

Definitely monokinis (those bathing suits with pieces cut out). I don't think they're very flattering on normal to plus-sized girls, though.

I neeed the beautiful 50's style spotted one that was in the summer 06 toast catalogue.

Okay, I have done some searching, and I found a few that I really like. I want to splurge on Michael Kors, but I hears that Lisa Curran makes really good suits also, so now, I am torn.

Option 2:

or Option 3:

What do you think?

I like option 1, then option 3, then option 2. but thats just my opinion and i dont knwo how each of them would look on you. I would be tempted to go for the michael kors because its going to be the only bikini of its kind on the beach and the design is gorgeous.

Ordered and Delivered so fast!!

The third one was the one I liked the least, because the cut seemed so generic. I couldn't stop going back to Lisa Curran. If you spend more than $200 dollars, you receive a 10% discount all the time, so that is what I did. :D I really, really love her preppy stripe halter with the shirred bottom, but since I have a family pool party for the holiday coming up, I'll show you the one I will be wearing: http://www.lisacurranswim.com/catalog/sienna_paisley_sheered_one_piece_4893452.htm

The back is all open so it is amazing, but the tummy is covered so I don't get any comments... genius! :P

Of course, my luck, I just went to check on the website and today and today only, there is a 20% off sale that Lisa Curran is having. Thought I would give you guys a heads up.... I guess I am getting another Lisa Curran bikini sooner than I had originally thought! :-p
