This brand deserves a thread all its own. Julia Lundsten is a remarkable designer that is on the rise.

a little biography:
Julia Lundsten is fast emerging as one of the most promising and talented shoe designers, with her label FINSK, launched in 2004. Finnish born Lundsten who has been dubbed the Eames of footwear, has established herself as a designer with a strong vision and unique, directional style.

Lundsten graduated from London’s Royal College of Art in 2003 and won the prestigious Manolo Blahnik Award two years running. ‘Exquisite, divine and perfect’ are just some of the words Blahnik has used to describe her shoes.

With an architect father and interior designer mother, Lundsten has cultivated an eye for design, clearly reflected in her work. Some of her biggest inspirations have derived from natural architecture, including buildings and furniture details as well as structures found in nature, such as on leaves and insect’s wings. Likening a shoe to that of a chair, Lundsten says the heel and sole are the chair legs, with the upper, the seat.

They can also be purchased at www.asos.com and Labour of Love London (or through Far Fetch.com) - both sites are having sales on at the moment the s/s 2009 range, although Amelie Boutique has been the cheapest place so far for s/s09 shoes, with very few sizes left!

lulu, please post yours.

leyla, im with you on this point, this season is the most appealing. older seasons are interesting and distinct but dont have the panache that this season does.

lucky,
i am really really loving the wedges!! must restrain myself!!!

S/S 2009 pink & blue wedges

- these are fairly narrow and I would say run half a size small. I got them in 37 ( I normally wear 36 - 36.5) and they fit me well.

i received mine last night and discovered the same truth, they run narrow in the toe box. love the quality and the design though.

i'll take some shots tonight.

those are keepers lulu...
your legs...the shoes...the colors...are all so pretty.

Cannot wait to see photos of your boots - I know some ladies who have bought them, but have never posted photos...

The lady who I bought the shoes off of happens to work for Julia/Finsk in London, so she warned me that the shoes tend to run narrow. Hope it is not too much of a bother for you, and that you are able to enjoy them ^_^

sadly my boots ran really narrow so i had to send them back. cant say enough about the workmanship, it was top notch and i loved her use of leather and wood together, they reminded me of an armadillo.

i would size up a full size next time.

lulu...the shoes you selected are SO lovely...

I found the same thing. I went a full size up and they are still a tight around the toes.

Did you get the ponyhair wedges?

does anyone know where it's still possible to purchase the FINSK black pony (or suede?) & wooden wedge ankle boots? are those still in production? also, for anyone who has bought them, are they actually walkable?....or more of a piece fit for a museum/collecting?

they seem to be sold out everywhere
u can probably walk with them just for a few hours maybe but I dont know that would be great to know if some tfsers purchased it
I actually wanted to buy them but they look like more like a collecting piece as you mentioned it
