Just coined the expression in another thread. What do you think?

I'm thinking we'll see it coming pretty soon. Here's why:

1. Think of the recent young doll models (Starting with Natalia, leading to Gemma, Lily, etc)
2. Then consider the fact that loli/goth fashion has been HUGE in Japan for some years
3. Think about Perry Ellis' pink ribbons and white lace dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs' kindergarten collection, Alexander McQueen's short girly Edwardian dresses(Edwardian is, btw, also going to be a huge trend, I think) and Viktor & Rolf's ribbons. There are probably more as well.
4. Put that together with the fact that we haven't seen this trend yet, and therefore it is bound to come eventually.
5. Also, I personally can really feel it. Think white linen bodices, cute ribbons, fluttery dresses, golden hearts, ankle socks. Very pretty.

I seriously believe in this trend.

  I hope you're right. It's all so girly and cute and totally fits in with the sort of stuff I like to wear. I love that white Perry Ellis dress with pink ribbon. So cute!

there's something a little disturbing about it.... but in an odd way, I like it

i call it babydoll...but i agree that it's here ...it's been coming for awhile...

marni is the leader ...but rochas and balenciaga have been doing it for several seasons as well...i think it's just finally going mainstream...

i'm glad... :flower:

Loads of trendy older-teens dress like that in Newcastle...mary-janes, floaty flimsy sherbet pink dress and innocent smile.

I'm so happy! Love love this trend and I'm so glad it really seems to be coming (or already exist)!

Happy happy!

I've loved this style and worn it, for quite a while now...

If i knew where to get it i would fly there right this minute. I want that dress!!!

I think you're right about this being part of the boho trend, by the way.

If I were an editor for Vogue, my list for the essentials of this trend would go something like this:

Satin ribbons
White cotton or linen lace
Babydoll dresses
Golden heart pendant
Flower prints
Ankle socks
Striped tights
Plastic toy accessories

Got more ideas?
