I had no idea there were this many versions of Top Model…

I don't think this was mentioned, but Phil Sullivan from ANTM boys and girls cycle recently signed with Ford and was shot by Steven Meisel for February's Vogue Italia.

He's also in the editorial as well, but my point is that he was shot by Meisel, which could lead to more editorial and print work. Besides Toccara Jones and Tyra, no other model from ANTM has been shot by Steven, so that in itself is an accomplishment.

Ebonee Davis has also had a bit of success int he US and in South Africa, she did lots of commercials and eds in South Africa a beauty campaign in India and appeared on a times square billboard for American Eagle

I think most of the girls they pick, especially for the American version, just don't have the look. Also it seems like some of the girls, in addition to not having model looks, are rather short (like eva pigford). So most of these girls just don't work as high fashion models, just commercial. Also, seeing them acting so mean and unprofessional and immature on TV, that might be a turn off for future employers. Who would want to hire the diva who's hard to work with especially if she's not that famous or talented or great looking anyway?

I think it is a social media thing, the more known they are, the more interesting they become to clients.

^ Add that some of those Next Top Model shows actually cast promising faces like Korea and Austria. I think America is the only who has a problem with that. I stopped watching ANTM but I saw some pictures. Tyra's casts don't really look like models most of the time. There is this list on rtvgames with blue chip shows and good campaigns that the contestants booked and I think it's pretty impressive.

So glad that Leila put ANTM on equal footing against other foreign NTM models. Even though I stopped watching ANTM as of now I somehow wonder when ANTM can have an equal footing with its international counterparts...

Even five years ago I bluntly said that the true ANTM winner is the one whose career is on par with, let's say, Ksenia Kahnovich and Patricia van der Vliet. To be honest, those two are the benchmarks.

The AusNTM girls tend to do very well locally, but only Alice has really made it overseas. I think they're a bit more realistic and harsh on the girls and better prepare them for the industry than the American version at least.

For the new Aus season they STILL mention Alice who won in 2007. Over 8 years ago.
The same model who basically quit working overseas because she only ended up further in debt and barely works in Australia apart from sporadic 'appearances' at casting for David Jones and a Mimco campaign.
