Who:
Tay Demery, 180 cm / 5’11”, American, born December 24th.
We Asked:
How and when did you become a model?
“It’s so crazy because I didn’t always want to model, people always told me I should but I laughed it off. I use to watch America’s Next Top Model ALL THE TIME but never thought anything of it. One day my friend and I signed up to be in fashion show at a college in my hometown, after that, opportunities kept knocking at the door. I’ve loved it ever since then!”
What have you learned since you started modeling?
“I’ve learned (and still learning) that you can NOT compare your journey to the next person’s. It’s all about timing! What’s for you will be for you. Don’t stress it, man. Stressing only causes distraction.”
What’s the most difficult thing you have ever done?
“The most difficult thing I’ve ever done was gain confidence. When you’ve been told by society and even your own people that you’re unattractive in some way, that could take a toll on you and you start to believe it. I’m learning to love me the way I am. There’s always someone that thinks I’m beautiful and there’s also someone who doesn’t find me appealing, but what matters is what I think!”
