He also did her clothing in No Man of Her Own (with Gable), so here are some shots from classicmoviefavorites.com.

I also found an actual picture of a dress from this movie on fidm.edu

Thank DosViolines I love carole Lombard. She was a muse for my favorite Hollywood costume designer -- Travis Banton. Do you have any pics of her in some Banton gowns?

Thanks thehepburn ^_^

I couldn't find any pics of Lombard in his designs, but I'll keep looking.
Besides, Luxury's Lap has found some already. Thanks :flower:

Moving on, here's some of Dorothy Lamour....(2 are from eBay, the rest are from a Google Image Search, specific sites in file names)

More men :brows: of the 30's: Clark Gable, Bogart, Gary Cooper, and Charles Boyer........:crush:

love the bette davis pictures, especially the first in post 183,184.
also the exquisite lombard-photos.you´re right northern sky,to be or not to be is such a great film.who else could have managed to keep the balance between satire and seriousness regarding such a controversial topic if not lubitsch.his irony is wonderful and so human..and yes carole lombard certainly is a pleasure for the eyes-from each perspective .i think can tell the resemblance you see between constance bennett and miss lombard.their faces have a similar kind of bone structure.
thanks also for the clara bow-picture from "call her savage".clara gave a splendid performance.it shouldn´t have been her last film but the first in a new direction,a second career :( .
ps.:norma shearer wasn´t part of "blondie of the follies".unfortunately i have no idea who the other actress is:unsure:.

sylvia sidney
i´ve already posted pics of her in the 20´s thread but she was more an actress of the 30´s.schulberg,clara bow´s producer chose her as his new prodigiy when he wanted to get rid of clara at the end of the 20´s (a horse that can´t run isn´t of worth  ).i don´t know though how long the personal and professional realtionship between slyvia and schulberg lasted.

argh, stupid me, that's billie dove, i don't know why i always mix them up.
thanks for the correction, and the pictures are lovely.
i didn't know clara bow was dropped so fast by her producer. how sad.. but i guess the glamourous times and the miserable ones followed each other very quickly in hollywood.

Finding a few photos on eBay led me to find more on the internet (sites: ebay, elissa.org, davidmanner.com, and thepcfixer.co.uk)

Elissa Landi

She is believed by some people to have been the secret granddaughter of Sissi (Empress Elizabeth), the beautiful consort of Emperor Franz Josef of Austria. In 1943 Elissa left films behind and concentrated on writing, producing six novels and books of poetry. Elissa succumbed to cancer on October 21, 1948. She was just 43 years old.

more frances, she was born 1913 and went to hollywood in the early 30´s.Her good looks led her to a 7 -year contract with paramount, she did mostly b - films, her most acclaimed performance was in "come and get it" 1936.She hated the rules in hollywood and rebelled against the studios control and left for a while to join a theatre group.Life was rough on frances and she started to drink to much, after a drunk drive she got arrested and then everything was ruined for her. After she was found mentally incompetent, she was sent to a private sanitarium where she received insulin shock therapy...and on and on it goes this sad, sad story...she died 1970.
some pics from ebay::heart:
