And I just read on imdb.com that in 1942 she was flying back from Indiana after selling war bonds, when her plane crashed. She was only 33.

I found this picture of Mary Lou Dix on eBay. I looked her up on imdb.com. She had a few movies in the 1930s, all of which she was "uncredited" for...and then in 1963 she committed suicide.

i´ll have problems to tell the sources of the pics i´m going to post.i´ve gathered them here and there and it´s often impossible to remember where i originally found them .

ann dvorak (first pic:ebay),never a mainstream-queen,she reached the peak of her carreer during the pre-code years at the beginning of the 30´s when hollywood still dared to make controversial films.

madleine carroll,a british actress and once a favourite of alfred hitchcock.

leila hyams (source:ebay),never one of the major stars. yet she made great films like "red-headed woman" with jean harlow and "freaks" with olga baclanova.the latter is one of the most extraordinary films that hollywood ever dared to make.

maureen o´sullivan,mother of mia farrow and tarzan´s original jane .
