1952 - Egyptian–born, Paris–based designer Gaby Aghion establishes the fashion label Chloé. She borrows the name from a friend because she likes the elegance of its sound.

1956 - Aghion and her business partner, Jacques Lenoir, début their first collection for Chloé at the Café de Flore in Paris. They call it the antidote to the stuffy couture of the fifties.

Does anyknow which collection was Martine Sitbon's first season?

Does anyknow which collection was Martine Sitbon's first season?
According to Bloomsbury Fashion Central, it was the Spring/Summer 1988.
"Martine Sitbon's Spring/ Summer 1988 womenswear collection for Chloe was shown at Paris Fashion Week. This was Martine Sitbon's first show as creative director at Chloe. The show began with tailored suits, jackets and formal wear with a color palette ranging from neutrals to bright block colors. The show continued with formal wear followed by colorful, floral day dresses and color block gowns and coats. Delicate embroidered, beaded and satin gown closed the show. Accessories included gloves and hats."

Grazie Maayan!

According to @Lola701

Guy Paulin (from 1984 to 1985), Philippe Guibourge was working on the eveningwear during Paulin’s era and then, Peter O’Brien who started in 1985. Martine Sitbon joined when Gaby Agnion sold the brand to Richemont in 1987.

So, 1984 S/S was Karl final collection for his first reign.
Then 1984 F/W by Guy Paulin. 1988 S/S was by Martine Sitbon.

interesting this popped up. In October 2023, I was in Jewish Museum in New York and they had exhibition about Gaby Aghion and House of Chloe. It featured both Karl's and Martine's designs. I was allowed to take photos so took photos of everything (literally)...

Thank you for the food!
