I think your list is pretty spot-on Joseph, however I do think that Hilary Rhoda would have been a nominee for 2006. Agyness Deyn would be a 2007. I shudder to think that Ms. McNeil would be a nominee next year.

i miss those shows. i remember watching the show on VH1 in 2000 at 13 and not knowing who the designers (i think nicolas for balenciaga won that year and i was like wtf and his clothes) and or Carmen was. it was my first taste of fashion and a bit of an education

ok, so enough nostalgia, i miss those shows. i remember when VH1 would reair the old ones over and over with the pop up video stuff. i wish i could see those old shows again.

I only saw 96, 99, 01 and 02 I would also love to see them again!


the first ones were really better 'cause it was like 60% fashion and 40% celebrities, there were categories for "best photographer", "best campaign", "best male model" .....


the last one was like 90% celebrities and 10% fashion, some of the categories related with real fashion dissapeared since 1999

the last one was horrible! i remember they didnt even do awards, they just paraded the "winners" out for a speech. it was a shame. the old ones were really a fashion education for me, the last one was just the big names that even non fashion people know (ie marc jacobs)

i agree with your list, joseph. as you know, i think daria is doing more intersting things now than before, but certainly 2004 was her most 'supermodeled' year.

about 2007, it seems to me it's too early to say who the winner could be. we still have half a year in front of us.
