I think it was October 1971: I’d have guessed that it was one of Diana Vreeland’s last, as the colored fur and flamboyant makeup are more of Vreeland than of Mirabella. Under the editorship of Vreeland, Vogue had long been featuring just a head and shoulder shot for its covers. Mirabella kept up the practice, though with predictably more beige results.
