news.yahooAustralian model and actress Abbey Lee Kershaw appears alongside British musician Charlie Siem in the brand's latest campaign, a minimalist series of images for Spring/Summer 2015, devised by BOSS Womenswear Artistic Director Jason Wu.
One of fashion's biggest names, Kershaw took a lengthy break from walking in shows to focus on her acting career, but made her runway return in New York City at Boss this fall in New York City. Appearing with classical violinist Siem, the pair "were chosen for their attitude and character," according to the brand.
"It’s about the very essence of the woman and the man," explained Wu. "Both Charlie and Abbey Lee have something more – something else. They are unique, and talented – but also a personality. With BOSS, that’s all important. Style comes from the attitude of the wearer.”
The campaign was photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, with styling by Joe McKenna and choreography by Stephen Galloway. Last season's models were an equally multitalented pairing of model and equestrian Edie Campbell and actor Scott Eastwood (son of Clint).

Abbey Lee is Nicolas Winding Refn’s choice to star with Elle Fanning in his next film The Neon Demon, and she’s negotiating to play the role of Sarah. This comes after the Australian supermodel-turned-actress co-starred in George Miller’s Mad Max for Warner Bros and Gods Of Egypt for Summit/Lionsgate.
In Neon Demon, she plays a cool ringleader of a maniacal group of models. She is represented by UTA, Management 360 and United Management in Australia. Neon Demon is co-financed and co-distributed by Gaumont and Wild Bunch and shooting end of March in Los Angeles.
variety.comAustralian Model Abbey Lee Revs Up Acting Career in New ‘Mad Max’
Australian actress Abbey Lee won a model-search competition in 2004, and has become one of the world’s best-known fashion faces. Now, she’s broadened her horizons into acting for the upcoming “Mad Max: Fury Road,” directed by George Miller.
HOLY GRAIL
Looking to fill a role in the latest sequel to his apocalyptic thriller, Miller reached out to modeling agencies after he couldn’t find an actor he liked. Lee made a tape in which she and her dad performed a Monty Python sketch. “I guess I had something George needed, because he flew me to Australia not long after,” she says.
PASSION PLAY
Lee says her move into film wasn’t planned, but now she’s discovered what she’s been missing. She credits Miller for helping her to make the transition. “I found my passion, and learned where I was meant to be in life,” she says, adding that work on “Fury Road” “was like a boxing session: sweat, tears, lactic acid and euphoria. Even when it hurts, you wanna go back for more, because it feels so good.”
AUSSIE CONNECTION
After the “Mad Max” pic, Lee will next be seen in “Gods of Egypt” from Australian helmer Alex Proyas. “Many of the crew on ‘Mad Max’ were also working on ‘Gods,’ ” Lee says. “I know they were a huge support in getting me in front of Alex.”
HOLLYWOOD-BOUND
Lee is currently shooting “Ruben Guthrie,” directed by Aussie thesp Brendan Cowell, in which she plays a Czech. “I’m working hard on that,” she says. “Then I’m making the move to Hollywood from New York City.”
thefashionspot.comAbbey Lee Kershaw’s Russh Magazine Cover: Smoking, Mermaids and Being an “Emotional Nut Job”
Everyone’s favourite grungy model Abbey Lee Kershaw is Russh magazine’s cover girl for February/March 2015, sharing her new-found love for acting, an almost-predictable obsession with anything and everything to do with mermaids, what her family thinks of her and more. If you’ve ever listened to anything Miss Abbey Lee has to say, you’ll know she’s never short of entertaining.
In her interview with the glossy, the 27-year-old, who rose to modelling fame as the fresh-faced winner of Girlfriend‘s Covergirl model search in 2004, revealed that her family think of her as “an emotional nut job” and that her home is not where her heart is, but rather where she unpacks her suitcase.
Since she added “actress” to her resume, Abbey Lee keeps herself busy as the modelling industry’s newest slashie. Taking the job ever-so-seriously since she landed a role in Mad Max: Fury Road, set for release this year, she reveals to Russh that her favourite thing about acting is that “reality means sh*t”, and, like other newbies in the biz, dreams of working with some big names during her career.
These include international stars like Joaquin Phoenix, Christian Bale and Juliette Lewis, but Abbey admits the last time she was starstruck was in the presence of one of Australia’s greats, Geoffrey Rush, on the set of Gods of Egypt. “I started smoking again just to start a conversation with him,” Abbey explained. “‘Hi Geoffrey, you have a spare cigarette?’,” she asked, even though she was already six days into quitting.
Having graced Vogue covers and the Victoria’s Secret catwalk, Abbey Lee also told Russh how surprised she is with how short everyone in the acting industry is. If we were hanging out with leggy skyscrapers for the better part of a decade, we’d think anything under 5″11 was teeny-weeny too.
And although Abbey Lee is still lending her unique genetics to the world of modelling, obviously, she can pinpoint one main difference in acting. “I have vocal chords,” she tells Russh. An interesting point considering her infatuation with The Little Mermaid, who loses her vocal cords on the journey to her new life.
Seriously, her favourite movie growing up was, and still is now, The Little Mermaid, plus she admits that she believes in the mystical creatures and is always on the lookout for them. Oh, and her dream role would be to play Ariel in, you guessed it, The Little Mermaid. Maybe she’ll get cast alongside fellow model-turned-actress Andreja Pejic in Sofia Coppola’s live-action adaptation of the Disney classic. Now that, would be one heck of a lineup.
To read the entire interview, pick up a copy of Russh on news stands from February 12.
Abbey Lee Kershaw Channels Her NSFW Fury For RUSSH Magazine
Dedicated followers of fashion will no doubt be familiar with Abbey Lee Kershaw, one of the few supermodels of her time with creative ambitions that would rival even the most prolific polymath.
We've long been fans of Kershaw's ballsy approach to her life and career alike, and now - poised as she is on the brink of stardom with three major films slated for release this year - hers is a name and face on the verge of global stardom. It's no small coup then that RUSSH Magazine have secured Kershaw for the cover of their February/March issue 'Phoenix Rising' - an homage to the world of cinema, its stories and the inexhaustibly ambitious players that fuel that singular industry.
Above you'll find an exclusive preview of Kershaw's post-apocalyptic editorial, shot in the desert near LA by Daniella Rech and styled by Shibon Kennedy in a manner evoking the vibe of her blockbuster debut in Mad Max: Fury Road, which drops in cinemas this May.
