i love the way he combines fragile elements with darkness...
my favourites are the really delicate florals with the heavy black + grey coats..
the first look in post #3 for example...so lovely..

he always does red very well too..even though it isnt my favourite colour..

i dont like the cream / white satin looks toward the end...
not sure what's going on there...

i love akira..but this collection seems to lack...

something.

maybe that slight fragility that his other collections had? either way, this doesn't leave me desperate to visit his boutique particularly.

He's showing in Paris now? I don't like any of it...some really boring cuts...

those white dresses at the end are just plain ugly.

if he's going to show in Paris, he should stop thinking about pleasing the Australian market (who'll buy anything by a 'designer'.) and stepping up his designs a bit more. the Japanese flavour might make Aussies think they're cutting edge but the rest of the world needs something more. However, i like some of the earlier pieces like the patterned dress with the see through black top with the two black pockets on the chest.

I find it all rather depressing... :ermm:
He is usually much more spirited and light-hearted than this..
The colors, the styling, the overall cut of the garments...
seems so unnecessarily heavy..
Thanks for posting at any rate, Adore... :flower:

Thanks for posting :flower: Unfortunately, not so much a fan of this collection. It seems to lack ... something ...

i just think it is painfully commercial...
especially the model and the way it is shot....

it has no joy...:(...:ermm:...

hey hey now...i dont know if you're an aussie but please speak for yourself + dont generalise so much...:p :muscles:

as for 'stepping up his designs' in order to show in paris...he has been showing in paris for 10 years...;)

Wow, some of those looks are awful!
They look like something I would see in the JCPenney older ladie collections.
Homely, old and outdated
