Alasdair McLellan - Photographer

Not impressed with what this photographer is doing lately ... the current AH+ is a complete disappointment ... a good casting and a great stylist are not enough to produce a satisfactory result. Talent and creativity are missing deeply and his constant approach to Weber's photography makes me sick ... sorry for expressing my negative view.

^i'm maybe easy audience ... but that totaly work on me !
love the model, the style, the photos, the atmosphere ...

i totaly see the Weber approach ... especially when working with men recently ... i think he manages very well in the Weber-ish atmosphere but still keep his own touch.

I love Alasdair's work too. there is in fact some resemblance to Weber's pictures, the same strong physical presense of an object in particular. But Alasdair's aesthetic is more deprived, twisted in a way. there's something troublesome about his way of portraying youth contrary to shiny and superhealthy homoerotic vibe Bruce's pictures have.
not sure if that makes sense

definitely makes sense...alasdair certainly does have a twisted take on things having known him personally and was always a fan of bruce weber as well as smith lp covers .. so when you mix a typical northern English upringing and mix it with a weberesque fascination theres always going to be similarities but i think they are more often than not interpreted with more of a touchability about them rather than webers more aspirational and longing approach to things

He photographed the July 2009 cover of UK Vogue. At least i think this is his first cover for them, and i just love it, Julianne fits so well in his style aesthetic.
