^^^ Looks like the label is following in the marketing strategy of Zegna: Show in Dubai, then back to Milan, perhaps Shanghai next for that optimized glamorous global branding. The showing looks superior in motion: Flowing hair, flowing forms, on stern faces.
This Alberta Ferretti woman that’s a bit leaner, and meaner, and moving away from the Pre-Raphaelite gentleness while still faithful to her roots, is a much needed evolution for the label. Not convinced that the total look works; Once he sways a tad from those gorgeous, breezy and still cocooning ruffles and layers of pleated chiffons— and those Alexander McQueenesque Irere dresses in the most deliriously saturated dusty tones, it’s unfortunately less convincing. But if I were a woman, I’d be tempted to snatch up a few of the dresses to wear with a man’s Tom Ford coat, or one of OG Dries’ military ones— maybe even Lemaire’s. Really miss the days when a designer would send richly layered looks out on the runway, with the women effortlessly stripping off her great coat to reveal an even greater dress underneath, without missing a beat to her pace.
