NEW YORK — Monday evening at MILK Studios Tim Coppens presented his fifth collection since making such his smashing debut in 2011. That Barneys picked up his inaugural line speaks volumes about the luxury menswear designer’s impressive talent. On the evening, Alexander Ferrario and Dachuan Jin both featured two looks on the runway, though not before being captured on video in the narrow backstage, deep within the labyrinthine passages of MILK’s second floor.
“Say my last name,” calls out Alexander to the woman whose voice is heard off-camera ordering the show lineup. “I don’t know it, I don’t have it,” she confesses, “should I have it?” Alexander smiles as others around him enunciate every last syllable in “Fer-rar-i-o” several times. Once learned, Alexander’s surname will surely not be forgotten any more than, say, Barneys seasonal orders from Tim Coppens.
