Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2016

I think this is fantastic. Great separates, a bit of "something for everyone"- chic skirts, tweed jackets, sexy tops and denim-but all with an edge. I really love the argyle sweater missing the one argyle diamond. Quite cheeky. As is the stripper sweater. The ninth look is something you see on the streets of Meatpacking daily, a very real look.

I actually thought this is a strong Wang collection, having his sportswear elements yet looking chic for the ensembles. Seems like leaving balenciaga is the right move for him.
Well done!

It's very Wang and I can see some strong pieces, but that styling sucks. Everything would look better, but they're "playing" and it doesn't work. That's why this collection looks like a hot mess. Just look at the 10th look- it's just so bad, like they threw random pieces on the floor and mixed them on Lexi. I don't know, did he change his stylist? Because this and his ss16 collectiom are both messy in a really not-cool, uninteresting and tortured way.

i think its extremely strong for Pre-Fall. I love his continuation of silhouettes and styling from Spring 16 and Fall/Winter 15 collections. I think the stripper reference is fun (i also see an ode to Carine Roitfeld), and the heels are so good. Ive been taking notice of his denim pieces, and im really liking the progression

Reminds me quite a bit of his earliest stuff, only elevated to a level that feels much more "designed" than his early work ever did. The outerwear is killer, those tights add a really cool, sexy, graphic element and I love the intentionally trashy/humorous elements thrown in for fun.

i like that he has been making lots of different types of pieces for this and last runway collection rather than just base around 1 idea for 20 looks. interesting!

This is great and very him. I like it! His work is becoming less & less derivative of other designers and it's good. Even if the "chaotic" styling is a bit Marc Jacob-ish/HBA-ish, it works well here.

me - a couple of days ago: "omg i wish the fanny-packs were coming back ! im craving for one ..." - im not sure they ever disappeared but its hard to find one that isnt a vintage 80s-90s fluo thing, or an ugly leather one, or a northface one ... but its useful when you ride, and i want something discreet (other than my little beach souvenir clutch i carry these days...)
i guess i'll have plenty of choice after this collection!

(my screencap from OP)

and over all ... i haVe to say its pretty good ! thats def what's selling these days, i feel like (just go out on the streets. ive seen lots of bombers+celine-ish bags lately ...

some of these skirts/dresses remind me of smtg else :

~ sort of african masks, maybe, non ?

also ... i might sound a bit obsessed or even nevrotic but ... i feel like Roitfeld's had a lot of influence lately ... and I wouldnt b surprised her allure, style, pencil skirts (and passion for working out stockings, gloves in editorials ...) is influencing some people of the NY scene ... since she's based in NY now ...

btw this is NY this winter already. Ive spotted some silhouettes like these downtown (alphabet city/orchard st/blablabla) and brooklyn (i d k what area, i barely go there...)

and also can people stop copying the Gucci horse-bite !! and here this belt looks very very Gucci ....

edit: i mean look at that detail above ! its f-ing Roitfeld !

i really really like this. Final dress is awesome, but everything is just great.

love the clothes but hate that styling, so awful ???it's too complicated and they wanted to show too much on a single silhouette...pity

I loved the collection and amazed by amazing styling. Perfect details. I just don't like the shoes in his recent collections. He's doing well. I want to see giant size Rockie bags. Its my dream. Hope they would come out. I also hope to see rocco and rockie bags with chain shoulder line.

The standout pieces for me are definitely the long coats and jackets, the rest is boring.
