Allure's got into the habit of producing covers with overly-detailed text, laying it out in ways that feel awkward, with bulky boxes and bullet points - it was the same with the Victoria Beckham issue, which I bought today. The cover text is fighting against the cover image, instead of complementing it, and some of the writing is so small, it's not really working to grab the attention in any immediate way.

But having Yasmin Le Bon inside the issue certainly does make up for that.

^ These ed so make up for the cover subject. I find her so vapid but Allure always delivers on the articles and I see a cover-line involving hair so I want to read that.

Kendra Spears has a beautiful "big hair" two-page editorial and Paulina Porizkova, Patti Hansen and Brooke Shields also appear in a beauty-ed. Paulina is the only one who has two pictures and one of them is in colour.
