I'm hating these no-makeup covers. It didn't do any favors for Regina George and it's not doing anything for Kerry either.

I'm trying to like it, but I don't really understand why a magazine so focused on make-up is selling itself with the bare-faced look. It seems a contradiction in terms.​

I mean here you have a stunning woman who has great Style, is on a hit TV Show, and appears thoughtful and intelligent in her interviews. Yet somehow magazines never seem to use her well for the covers! This is even worse than that god awful Lucky cover!

She's one of the most beautiful actresses out there but they always put awful images of her on magazine covers.

No makeup is the look right now though, I feel like everyone is going for that "I have perfect skin and do absolutely nothing" look right now. Which in person tends to look really lovely, perhaps it isn't the best look for a magazine cover but I think the choice to go makeup free on covers reflects a real trend that is happening right now.

Still, I always love Kerry with a bold plum lip

Precisely! None of that is filtering through, instead she looks like death warmed over. This much too 'sans fards', then on the flip-side Russian Allure's again too clown-ish and excessive. Can we just have a 'normal' un-fierce beauty cover setting the tone for fall make-up trends?

Kerry Washington annoys me. I wish I could get behind the hype (behind her and Scandal which also annoys me). Oh well.

I understand the no makeup look is in but I feel like maybe they failed a bit with this cover. Just a bit. Otherwise I'm sure this cover will be inspiring for many so that's good.
