New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014 - 8 Models to Watch

Amanda Wellsh had a quiet season at New York Fashion Week, walking for the likes of Rebecca Minkoff, Tibi, Helmut Lang, and Peter Som. But when Frida Giannini, creative director of Gucci, hand-picked Wellsh to open and close the brand's Spring/Summer 2014 show in Milan as an exclusive and to star as the face of its latest campaign, shot by photography duo Mert and Marcus, it became obvious that Wellsh was on the path to modeling success. The 5'10" Brazilian's more mature look has now become a favorite of Oscar de la Renta, Chanel, Balmain, Maison Martin Margiela, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Dries Van Noten. If anything, Wellsh is proof that it only takes one job—and one person—to help start the career of a lifetime.
