Actually, this has more Vivienne elements than most of his previous work... little flourishes (tartans, bustiers, etc) that individually reminded me of how great a designer she was. She has such a terrific archive from which to mine...I wish he would reference her with more creative intent.

When taken apart there are some nice separates but he lacks that skill that she had of putting all the chaotic pieces together and making them sophosticated and high fashion.

He was responsible for many fascinating looks and ideas when he was working under Vivienne’s direction but he’s not the type that can be a creative director, he needs someone to tell him no or otherwise we end up with this. I really believe that with the right people steering the ship, Westwood could become one of the leading British brands.
