The costumes for Velvet Goldmine really look great, is the movie good?

The movie isn't as good as it could've been (IMO, of course), but it's definitely worth a watch. The costumes are fantastic, and Ewan McGregor drops his pants and makes out with Jonathan Rhys-Meyers...so what more do you really need?

Christian Bale plays a reporter who is trying to figure out what happened to a very Ziggy Stardust-esque 70s glam rocker, Brian Slade (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers). The movie goes through the whole rise and fall of Slade and the other characters in his life, like his wife (played by Toni Colette) and his lover/fellow musician Curt Wild (Ewan McGregor).

I don't think it's one of those movies where the plot is all that important. It's more about the mood, the decadence, the flashy costumes and the homoeroticism.

And I totally forgot about the movie Orlando. Love it.
