Androgyny In Fashion And Models

this is such a gorgeous thread!! I particularly love the pictures of Stella, Isabella, and the pictures of Tasha Tilberg that adore posted. I have to say, I love the look on women with short hair, but I think that's because I'm really feeling that hairstyle and will be chopping off my own hair quite soon. I'm interested in seeing more examples of this look done in non-menswear (i.e. suits), though I do love the look when the menswear is done in a slouchy way.

I always loved the androgyny of the 90's, but back then, I understood it in the more "cross dressing" way ... but I'm slowly starting to see the mix and blend of masculine and feminine. Looking through the pictures inspired my outfit today ... although I have to say I achieved more masculine than androgynous. But I'm feeling like experimenting a bit with my style. I'd love to see examples of real women/street style for this, although I'm not sure, based on the title of the thread, if this is the appropriate place for that.

no no it's Leslie Winer an iconic model and muse of the parisian nights in the late 70s-80s... Le Palace (parisian equivalent of Studio 54) etc.
I think she spent some times in NY, too. But I mainly know her from France....

If i'm not wrong she dated Basquiat and was William Burroughs' muse....

She was a sort of Gia.... if you know what I mean.... burn and die....
she did burn... but is still alive....with some children in NY....

I spy Patti! She's perfect for this thread.

I noticed Hannelore Knuts was casted quite often in the Ann Demeulemeester runways. I think that's because she looked a bit like Patti Smith back when she had longer dark hair. She has quite a cool androgynous look, too.

And what about more male androgyns? There's the many male muses of Hedi Slimane, but some of the most striking are the men who can pass for women but occasionally wear beards like Danila Polyakov (tFS thread)--another red headed androgyn and active genderf*cker/crossdresser/etc --

Definitely thought she was perfect for the lead in Orlando. Her look is very unique. Not a conventional beauty but still striking.
