Thanks again Zorka! It's criminal that she isn't featured in Vogue US still. She is what woman want to see -- radiant, talented, natural.

I really like État sauvage editorial, it is so beautiful. Plus I always enjoy if animals are also included.
These pictures could've been easily taken 10 years ago, it's like Angela's not aging at all.

The environmental pioneer
04 August 2015 Angela Lindvall INTERVIEW
Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Hermès ... - the list of labels for which Angela Lindvall was photographed and ran on the runway could be continued endlessly. End of 90er- and early '00s-years counted the "girl from Kansas City" (as she calls herself) to the biggest supermodels in the world. Today, it takes more to always selected modeling jobs, but mainly focuses on its commitment to sustainability and a "green" lifestyle - things that they already during her time as a model in New York for themselves discovered, as in popular culture, no one spoke of Green Juices or Yoga Retreats. The latter organized Lindvall this year on their farm in Topanga Canyon, the rural hippie town north of Malibu. What she yoga so fascinated why sustainability is a way to self-healing and what has changed most evident in the '00s-years in the fashion industry, says Angela Lindvall in Interview
In the late '00s and early-years 90er- They were among the biggest supermodels in the world, since then her career has developed in other directions.
How do you see yourself?

First, I'm still the girl from Kansas City! About all the different things that I've done since then, I, frankly, lost count.

Today Yoga plays an important role in your life.

Yes, a few years ago I went to a Kandalini Yoga Teacher Training Yoga West in LA - but not to actually be yoga teacher, but to develop my own practice.

What fascinated you at the beginning of Yoga?

Even when you first try I had incredibly profound experiences. I call myself a Rebel Yogi.

How come?

I've been all my life a rebel. As for yoga, I have a very pragmatic approach - unlike these wannabe Spiritual who see everything through rose-colored glasses. I can still drink beer and hang out with cowboys on a ranch - this will always be a part of me.

What part of you then fills Yoga?

Yoga has something awakened in me that has expanded my awareness of myself. To work in fashion is so focused on the externals - I have at times felt to be very dreary.

Wherein the outer always has a deeper background.

That's true. Maybe it's because I tend to womanhood in general. There are a lot of self-criticism and self-evaluation. I've noticed that it's more about the journey through the interior. And that one should connect to the true self more - the extended self. This includes, too much to develop your own intuition and to rely on them.

Have you noticed by yoga on sustainability-issues?

No, this is something I already do since I am about 18 years old. It came with my move to New York.

How exactly?

I grew up in the countryside, nature was a matter of course for me. In New York, I then for the first time wondering where all the crap probably comes from and what actually are for additives in our food and water. The research has blown me away!

Knowledge is one thing - another commitment.

I was very excited and asked why this is not on the front page of the newspapers? This is serious and people know more about their favorite celebrities as they know about the state of the planet. During my research I have discovered all these great organizations, campaigning for changes. And I thought: How about if as the pop culture and the media would use as a means for more awareness?

For these purposes, they founded the Collage Foundation, which no longer exists today. How So?

The irony is that my own world collapsed on me when I was trying to save the world outside. I found myself in a divorce and my sister died. Moving to California was then my salvation. There I was able to embark on the path of self-care. To heal the planet, is first and foremost, to heal itself - I saw a time. In California, there is generally a high awareness of proper food and health.

The nature and the lifestyle there were thus the reasons that have brought you to LA?

Nature was the most important aspect. For my modeling career, it did not make sense because New York or one of the European cities would have been much more appropriate.

With your move, you were a kind of pioneer - LA has become very popular in recent years, also in the fashion world. And issues such as sustainability and health have evolved in just the past two years to trends.

Absolutely. At that time, people have often not understood what I am talking. It's good that you pay attention to these issues now, both on social, industrial and technical level. Because as I said, if we pay attention to ourselves, we also pay attention to the planet. I think we have the time behind us, in which one thinks, with this cream or that outfit makes you feel better and look better. If you do not ultimately connects to the deepest inside and take care of herself, cares for the soul, you may still be unhappy - and you can see that then.

What sustainable choices you make in everyday life?

I grow my own food, raise my own chickens and rabbits on. My waste is composted. In addition, I am involved in my community for more private farming. I consume very aware and always ask myself: What do I really need? This is - just what fashion terms -essentiell. I try mainly to buy natural fibers, environmentally friendly products.

Are there any sustainable fashion brands that help you and recommend?

Unfortunately still far too few - but after all, ten years ago there was virtually nothing. Amour Vert I think it's great, or Lillian Raven. I am in the Founding Board of Clean by Design, an initiative that was launched by the Natural Resources Defense Council years ago and aims to improve the standards of textile production. The biggest problem in my opinion is that there is an enormous distinction between the designer of clothes and the manufacture of textiles - the designer would have to be informed about it a lot better.

What do you think about the sustainable collections of the major distributors, such as the Conscious Collection of H & M?

That's a good thing. If large enterprises introduce sustainable change that has a huge impact - even if there are only small steps. We should encourage such companies more!

You yourself have in the past already cooperates with sustainable businesses, such as Edun. Could you imagine such a thing again?

Particularly lounge and homewear I would find interesting. Straight but I concentrate fully on the yoga retreat that I host on my farm in Topanga Canyon. Now in August, already taken my third. From September I also cooperating for an Ayurvedic Spa in LA, even for day retreats.

How exactly can you imagine one of your retreats?

There is a group of a maximum of eight people who come together for a weekend. We wake up, start the day, drinking detox tea and green juices, do yoga. Then come some really good body workers who do massages with essential oils and Raindrop therapies. There are also fire-ceremonies and hopefully soon also Sweat Lodges. To the food at the retreat is Urban Remedy, a really great company that "is food medicine" according to the principle works cares. In addition, there are workshops in nutrition and well-being.

Have you trained for?

Yes, I am still right in the middle. Especially I'm a health coaching. Actually, I have it - just like yoga - started for myself, but now I like the idea to share my knowledge. I remember to fill a niche: Exclusive Health coaching for people from the fashion world, perhaps especially Models.

They are equipped with a number of selected jobs also still part of the fashion world. What changes you have witnessed in recent years?

I was beginning my career nor part of the film era, ie before digitization. The changed everything! All! The creative process, such as an editorial arises is today so different then - much of the magic is lost. Before you see the end result, is already optimized, everyone is just in front of the screen. In some ways you can be grateful for it but also because it was earlier last much longer. And you never knew where it takes you.

What was different in your first job?

There's a beautiful story: One of my first jobs was with Juergen Teller, a production for the Italian VOGUE. We were only four, he, his assistant, the stylist and I. We're just risen and set off in a Greyhound bus. At that time, the styling could be mixed completely free - that's now different.

They speak to the full look-Policy by many labels.

Exactly. Many designers want to see only photographed Head-to-Toe their pieces today.

How do you feel about social media?

It's amazing how we network today and can share things. I still belong to the last generation that grew up without all these devices. Mostly it makes me crazy! Above all, I'm the crazy people around me, because I do not live with my cell phone in hand.

But on Instagram you have 20,000 subscribers.

Probably I'm pretty bad in marketing about it. Mir is extremely important authenticity. I vertagge something almost never. One sees more chicken and vegetables in my feed than anything else!
