What was your first memory of fashion?
“I’ve always loved the clothing that actresses wore in those iconic Hollywood movies, and I remember wanting to emulate those looks when I grew up.”
What was the first runway show you walked in and what do you remember about it?
“Balenciaga, during Alexander Wang’s first season at the brand, was my first runway show. I remember being so incredibly nervous, but there was an inner confidence that told me to be proud for just being there. Honestly, the whole team at Balenciaga is so welcoming and encouraging, so they put me at ease.”
What are your Fall fashion picks?
“I’m all about a simple black suit pant at the moment, as well as the Balenciaga ankle boots. Oh, and I just got the most amazing vintage Alaia coat while in Paris for Couture!”
Who are your role models?
There are so many people that I respect, but mainly I’m inspired by anyone who is passionate about what they do. It’s nearly impossible to pick just one or two.
What is the best modeling advice you have ever received?
“Don’t ever pretend you are someone other than yourself.”
What is your favorite modeling career moment?
“When I opened the Spring 2014 Alexander Wang show, of course! Firstly, Alex was an incredible influence in the start of my career, but I think it was also the first time anyone noticed me on that large of an international level.”
Favorite beauty trick?
“Drink a lot of water, and try not to stress. One is obvious, one is nearly impossible…but the combination does wonders.”
What would people be surprised to know about you?
“That I was discovered while spending a semester studying abroad in Colombia. Not your traditional ‘German-discovery story.’”
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
“Hopefully, on top of the world and surrounded by good people!”
