I don't understand she manages to stay in the game? I would have thought that her Bardot-like novelty would have long faded by now. I guess some things become so hyped that people believe it. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the appeal. Good for Anna, I guess!

I guess Claudia Schiffers "Bardot-like" novelty still hasn't faded either, because she's an icon. Lol. Anna is incredible in her own right, there's no novelty about her.

But why? (And precisely because there have already been Bardots, including not only Claudia but also Lara, I thought that we had seen this all before and so this was just a passing phase.) I am not asking to "hate" on Anna, I just genuinely want to understand why Anna has made it so big. She's much shorter than the rest and doesn't have proportions built for runway. If she had an exceptional face, I might understand, but when you see her in the backstage and streetstyle shots, she always has heavy bags under her eyes and deep laugh lines, making her look quite old. Again, I am really not trying to get into an argument, I just always see people say, "Oh Anna is an icon." Why? "Because she's an icon." Okay, but explain. "Cause she's awesome." And that leaves me quite confused.

I wouldn't go as far to call Anna a icon, cause she is not yet. I guess the mix between Lara and Claudia makes her for me interesting. I do think they make her sometimes look or reminds me to much of Lara (last vp cover) or Claudia. However when she is just her i see that mix with the Bardot in her.
Anna is a great printmodel, really versatile. She is young, but sexy in a mature way. She doesn't have to try to be, she is sexy unlike her besties Lexi and Binx (who I both find boring).

I also think she has a great personallity. This may sound weird but I notice that topmodels like Lara and Natasha (photo together on instagram) follow her. Well Natasha follows tons of models, Lara not. Lara worked with Molly for example for VI and W but does not follow her or Binx or Daphne.

That aside, there's no explanation to models' success. They are liked by the right ones, therefore they success. As simple as that.

I don't think there is any specific reason? Pretty sure this business is 50% luck???being at the right place at the right time with the right people backing you. Who knows why she's at this level, and 5'11" beautiful/striking (not saying anna isn't striking or beautiful) girls are overlooked.

It's just how it worked out. She's stunning, that's for sure. I'm happy for her success.

Anna is not an icon, she's definitely on her way to become one, you can tell when a model will stand out from the rest, this is like her 6th season and she's working hard like her 2nd season. Most "It" models disappear on her 4th / 5th season. To explain why is a little difficult, it's about what everyone likes, and she seems to be liked by photographers and designers. Personally she got my attention since she opened Wang. I think she's great.
