Her article in Vogue China

Anna Selezneva

Just like how fellow Russian Sasha Pivovarova is called 'Sasha P', people are used to calling her 'Anna S'. The velocity of her ascent is comparable to that of a roller coaster: discovered in Mcdonalds, from Russia to Paris, from Paris to international stardom, and to being the cover girl of various editions of Vogue consecutively. And to Anna, this is just the beginning. After all, as a lot of people have opinioned, Anna is going to be the most talked-about muse of the industry.

Anna Selezneva has a fresh, angular face. When she looks straight into the camera, her tranquil eyes show a sliver of innocence. It was said that she would be the next Kate Moss, because mixed with her breezy girliness is the most wonderful ambiance of androgyny. Anna lives in Paris, 'the place where the dream began'. As a new and busy member of the fashion crowd, lesiure time is very precious to her. The arrival of this day was actually more peaceful and quiet than a work day. "I like to wake up on a quiet morning, stumble into the bathroom before getting some air outside...sometimes I get on my Apple computer to kill time, basically just chatting with my friends and family in Moscow on the Internet.

Regarding Moscow and Paris, Anna likes to use fly time to measure the distance between the two opposite points of Europe. Although she says, "I love Paris! The radiance, the food, Le Marais, and the surrounding hills!", it is still Russian folk that she loves best when it comes to music. Also, "although I run around the world, cutting across latitudes and longitudes, but if I have time, I will always try my very best to go home and idle around with my friends and family."

Fortunately, living in Paris is very comfortable, and not too far from home either. On an off day, Anna likes to wander around Place de Vosges, and going through Palais Royal to shop. Occasionally she also takes the time to go to Cafe la Perle to chat with friends, or to go to the very Parisian Hotel du Nord Restaurant for dinner.

Anna likes to wear comfortable everyday clothes. "When I don't need to work, I can be in jeans forever. They match everything I have, just add a simple T-shirt, a good-looking jacket, and beautiful shoes. But while I like to dress simple, I also hope to look more feminine!"

Like many girls of her age, Anna doesn't have a style she sticks to. Spontaneously fashionable, she occasionally draws inspiration from classic female figures: "I love the simplicity and timelessness of French actresses from the 70s like Catherine Deneuve or Charlotte Rampling; But at the same time, Patti Smith's powerful style influences me a lot too."

Anna usually goes shopping during fashion weeks. "I like to go to places where lots of labels can be found. Like Barneys in New York, Colette in Paris, and 10 Corso Como in Milan, that's my favourite store! But I will go to Azzedine Alaia sometimes in Paris on special occasions." Anna likes a lot of designers and labels, but Balmain, Yves Saint Laurent, Rick Owens, Prada, Balenciaga, Azzedine Alaia, Givenchy, and Isabel Marant are the most frequent additions in her wardrobe.

Like Sasha P, Anna likes art. She says, "This is one of the best ways for humans to express themselves. I love artists like Caravaggio, Michelangelo, but I also like the savage yet vivid colours of modern artists like Francis Bacon. I'm a huge fan of the art of the 19th century, when I have nothing to do in Paris I got to the Musee d'Orsay, but sometimes I also go to more modern museums like the Palais de Tokyo. Oh right, I recently saw Chinese artist Yan Pei-ming's work at the Louvre, they were amazing!"

Maybe it is her great taste in art that made Anna stand out from thousands of other girls, but Anna also understands how lucky she is, "I have never forgotten this. When I work, I think about clothes all the time. How to express them beautifully. That's when I forget self the most. But away from work, I hope to keep a real and peaceful life, with happiness, wonder, and gratefulness in my heart every moment.

This is not a very good translation but I hope it suffices.:flower:

This last one is from the interview with Camilla Akrans, but I thought I'd post it anyways:

Q: How do you feel about working with Anna for the first time?
A: She was very professional from start to finish, I firmly believe that this would not be our last time working together.

I hope they do work together again after the results of their last collaboration:D
