Antony Clavet Dies; Makeup Artist, 45

Antony Clavet, an internationally known makeup artist, died on Oct. 24 at a hospital in Biarritz, France. He was 45 years old and had homes in Manhattan and in Cold Spring, N.Y.
He died of bone cancer, from which he had been suffering for four years, his family said.
Mr. Clavet specialized in creating distinctive "looks" for film stars and other celebrities, among them the actresses Catherine Deneuve, Sophia Loren and Susan Sarandon, the singers Mick Jagger and David Bowie, and Queen Noor of Jordan. He served as styling consultant for the television series "Miami Vice" and for such films as "The Cotton Club," "The Hunger," "Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" and "Top Gun."
Mr. Clavet, who was born in St. Francois, New Brunswick, Canada, is survived by his parents, Rita and Harvey; by three sisters, Brigitte, Shirley and Brune, and two brothers, Rodrigue and Jacques, all of Canada.
