I love his work, and the clothes are beautiful...

BUT...

I'm just gonna say what everyone might be thinking upon seeing this: Dolce and Gabbana!!
It's much too similar to what they have done and been doing for the past few years! It's still beautiful but the comparison is inevitable because the similarities are too obvious!

i understand the dolce and gabbana comparison, but that only stands in terms of overall aesthetic. the craftmanship, the details, the intricate construction of every single piece shown here is something they can't even dream of.

this is amazing, as pretty much everything he does. probably my fav. collection from milan so far.

stunning details, textures, colours
lots to love here
very romantic...

I agree. The Dolce and Gabbana comparison can be understood in only perhaps the most superficial manner. Both houses are designing under the aesthetic umbrella of Italian romanticism.

But Dolce and Gabanna will never in their lifetimes approach this kind of design integrity, intelligence, and brilliance. The colors, the silhouettes, the details, the textures, the narrative behind the collections, the ideas here are so far and beyond their limited vocabulary. Antonio Marras is one of the best in the business, the Dries Van Noten of Milan.

These things are always a matter of taste, you know. Too bad for you then and, yup, I DARE to go that far because I find Antonio Marras up there with the greats, though he will always be undersung. In the meantime, I think most of today's big names and some legendary designers (Yves Saint Laurent, Hubert de Givenchy, Valentino Garavani) the makers of undesirable and mediocre clothing.

this guy can certainly step up to do gucci. love how original his sense of romanticism is. it has gotten a little severe of late, but still beautiful nonetheless.
