Any Star Wars Fans?

Needless to say I'm a big fan. I even tried using the force a couple of times after The Empire Strikes Back, much to my disappointment.

i haven't given up on using the force. just this minute i am trying to make my coffee cup slide into my outstretched hand...

my son is now nearly the same age as i was when the first movie came out. there was a kid in my class who was absolutely obsessed with star wars, to the point of hysteria. i hope he is working on the movies now, or in some related field. i'd bet money he got in to see it last night!

one thing you may not realize is how incredibly advanced all the effects seemed at that time. it's hard to imagine now, i know. but we were all in awe, and the world that lucas created seemed so real. i know now that he used some of the oldest archetypes and myths in western history to create the story, and that explains a lot of the appeal of star wars - everyone goes through a quest to find out who they really are and what their destiny is. but the casting and the scriptwriting are certainly worthy of the legendary status.

my son wants to see it and i would love to take him, but i have heard so much about how "dark" it is, and ow it may not be suitable for kids. could someone whose seen it give an opinion?

thanks, meme

PS: elli, i recommend starting with the 1977 one. whatever episode that is:innocent:

I have never seen the Star Wars movies which in reality makes me completely Un-American according to my father, mother, and anyone else who loves Star Wars but I will watch them - I'm interested in seeing what all the hype is about and I sincerely hope that I'm not disappointed.

Whoever sees the new one post your reviews please so I can know whether or not to see them - many people tell me that the new ones are not really great so I don't know what to think.

Oh that's sad CelineChic! You shldn't deprive yourself of the fun because of that horrible twat.

I think I should make an effort to at least see one in full. I once saw the first 10 minutes of the one that came out last year but I couldn't handle the "sci-finess".

Not a big fan of "sci-fi" movies

I saw "revenge of the sith" yesterday wich was the premiére in Sweden... I enjoyed it more than the last two and there was quite many references to the (first/last) triology. It "ended the circle" really well.

To my surprise I found myself enchanted by Hayden Christensen (playing Anakin) who looks much better in longer hair... I even though that his good looks contributed to his "evil" character :)

I always enjoy fantasy/sci-fic movies wich greatly speaks to my creative side. Padmés beautiful Geisha-inspired dresses in the firsh/fourth movie is not an exeption :)

saw episode 3 yesterday- one drawback for me -not enough wookies...

I am a 100% Star Wars nerd. I read all of the EU and have been enthralled with SW since like, 4th grade..... I went to see EPIII last night, and I'm going again tonight.. (Hey, I'm not complaining...) I actually CRIED during the movie. Anyone else?

i was taken aback by the reaction of some of the audience when the jedis ( and especialy the younglings) were killed- one thing lucas got right i suppose. personally i have to admit getting slightly emotional when yoda senses whats happening and drops his cane....

but there were some effective bits of comedy such as the droid kicking over r2d2 and yoda taking care of those two imperial bodygaurds ( the red ones). Although most of obi's quips fell flat

I still remember that day when my bro sat me down to watch the trilogy. Even though the Episodes are mostly just effects and battlescenes, as a fan I feel compelled to go.....

Okay so I'm a pathetic fool because I got tickets ahead for the first day. :ninja:

Scary, but there's some really diehard people out there...some people in line had authentic storm trooper and jedi costumes and were re-enacting fight scenes ...Oh and one of the teachers at school dressed all week as a jedi and greeted all of us as his padawan learners...as a prank someone kidnapped his yoda from his desk today...I feel bad though because he loves that thing.

Episode III was good, much better than I and II. Probably my next favorite after Empire Strikes Back.

I'm a big Star Wars nerd. So much I even played the online RPG Star Wars Galaxies and created a website devoted to the clothing (which got a nice note of recognition from the Art Director!)

Who says you can't be fashionable and kick major *** as an Imperial Twi-Lek on Dantooine? :muscles:
