By Hermes it's a man's gilet called 'Brazil'...

Going for quite a bit of money on eBay

It's...erm...interesting...what do you people think? I thought Hermes was just stuffy, old fashioned French tat...didn't know they made stuff like this:

I think that it is quite a beautiful piece. I am assuming it is silk?

Some of their scarves and shawls are really lovely, though there are a lot more that are dreadfully middle-aged and suburban.

That has got to be the most flamboyant piece of polyester I've seen in quite a while...

It's Hermes and hence silk...natch. says it was specially designed by 'Laurence Bourthoumieux'...

I think it could work over really faded skintight Levis with maybe a mesh longsleeve tee-shirt under it and battered, skinned-up cowboy boots. A good belt (western style, maybe) and a Captain Sparrow bandanna/headscarf. The wearer would be slim, muscular, and outrageous, with perhaps a short, stubbly beard and long hair, like Galliano or Steven Meisel. That's what I'm thinkin'

no matter how you could make it work... it very LOUD and flamboyant. I respect the man who could pull this off. haha

That is mingin! I wouldn't wear it in me coffin! No offence!

Don't worry, I never said I liked it...I just thought it was rather odd for Hermes...
